1) Preparation and Prayer

Good morning! I pray that you will be blessed as you join us in doing online church this morning. Even though we long for the day that we can meet in person again, we are thankful that we still have other methods to spend time together.

Read the following Psalm as a prayer in preparing your heart for meeting with God.

Psalm 143:5–6 (ESV)
143:5 I remember the days of old; I meditate on all that you have done; I ponder the work of your hands.
143:6 I stretch out my hands to you; my soul thirsts for you like a parched land. Selah

    • It’s been great to see how many of you have taken up this challenge to personally reach out to others to show them love by means of practical acts of love. Below are some ideas of things you can do:
      • Deliver food at their home.
      • Pick some flowers and drop at their home
      • Drop a bag of groceries at their home.
      • Buy them vouchers that they can use after the lockdown. (Some companies that are not allowed to do business now, are selling vouchers that you can redeem after the lockdown)
      • Offer to help them in a practical, legal way: e.g. take their dog for a walk.
      • If you know they have bills / debt, help to pay off their debt.
      • Regularly phoning and keeping contact with someone.
    • As far as possible it is best to stay anonymous when you help them (which is not possible for many of the examples above). But if you want you can print out the card below and give it to them with your act of love.

May the LORD bless you
