1) Preparation and Prayer

Good morning! Today I’m including another sermon that really meant a lot to me in my walk with the LORD.

Read the following Psalm as a prayer in preparing your heart for meeting with God.

Psalm 30:4–6 (ESV)
Sing praises to the LORD, O you his saints, and give thanks to his holy name.
For his anger is but for a moment, and his favour is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.
As for me, I said in my prosperity, “I shall never be moved.”

2) Announcements

  • BACK FROM LEAVE  I (Carel-J) am back from leave this coming Tuesday. As a pastor,  I am allowed to visit people at their homes for things like counseling. 6) Prayer

Spend time in prayer.

  • People on the bulletin to pray for: Paul, Janine and Hantie de Villiers; Anthony and Gillian Smith
  • People to pray for:
    • COVID-19. As you see from the news, South Africa is now experiencing an explosion in the number of COVID-19 cases. More and more of you now know friends or family who are sick with COVID-19 and sadly some also know some who passed away from it.
        • Pray for Gert and Elsa Kruger’s son and daughter-in-law in Gauteng who tested positive.
        • Pray for Welma (friend of Miriam Matthysen) who is sick with COVID-19 and really struggles with her breathing.
        • Pray for Mrs Dwaba (wife of Ps Dwaba Snr, a retired Baptist Pastor) She was admitted to Grootte Schuur Hospital with severe COVID-19 symptoms.
      • In Gauteng, Eastern Cape and Western Cape the hospitals have reached capacity so health workers are needing to make the decision who they need to help and who not. Please keep both the ones sick with COVID-19, their family and the health workers in your prayers
    • George and Lesley Blumrick are looking for more permanent accommodation in Stilbaai.
    • John Malan (Mark Symons’ brother in law; Helen’s brother) for a quick diagnosis, treatment and cure of mutated cancer.
    • Carel-J Rischmuller is doing much better with his hiatal hernia, due to prayer, medicine and small meals! 🙂
    • Martha, Godwin, Desiree (Yvonne Roth’s daughter), Garness, Sharn, Lex
    • The missionaries we support and others.
  • Praise God.
    • Those who have recovered from COVID-19
    • Basically, everyone is now allowed to return to work. Praise God for that. A few sectors are still not allowed to return or not return to capacity. Please keep them in your prayers.
    • All grades are able to return to school at Bertie Barnard from this week. Pray for other schools as well.
  • Pray for the 3 things we want to pray for every day
    1) Spiritual health. Pray for God to strengthen, encourage and grow his church. Pray for people to turn to God.
    2) Physical health Pray for God to have mercy on Stilbaai, SA, Africa and the world. For healing and protection from infection.
