1) Preparation and Prayer

Good morning!

Read the following Psalm as a prayer in preparing your heart for meeting with God.

Psalm 46:8–11 (ESV)
Come, behold the works of the LORD, how He has brought desolations on the earth.
He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; He burns the chariots with fire.
“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”
The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah

2) Announcements

  • WHEN WILL WE PHYSICALLY WORSHIP TOGETHER AGAIN? This is a difficult decision with many things to consider. With the outbreak of COVID-19 growing rapidly in South Africa, now is a time to avoid physical contact. If you can do something without physically having to meet with someone: do it that way. This is also true for our Sunday meetings. But in the coming weeks, the elders will discuss the best way to move forward.
  • If, HOWEVER,  you are struggling emotionally and spiritually and you are needing counseling, please contact Carel-J. I am allowed to visit people in their homes for counseling. (Obviously taking all precautions like wearing masks during counseling, etc.)
  • King’s Kids Online! Because we are not able to start King’s Kids Fridays yet, a part of the King’s Kids Week team are busy making online videos. Each video has a lesson, 2 songs, a craft and a memory verse. This is done in Afrikaans. Please distribute to children who you know will benefit from this. You can find it all at
    • 13th Pauline Rowles.
    • 16th Charlotte Swart.
    • 18th Godwin Africa and Salome Odendaal.
    • None
  • IN NEED.  If you experience any need at the moment, whether it is financial or for anything else,  please let Carel-J or one of the elders know.
  • Bible studies:
    • The Wednesday morning group will carry on this Wednesday in their study in Romans via Jitsi online meetings. Speak to Carel-J or Mark if you’d like to join.
    • The Monday evening Bible study is also using Jitsi for online meetings and is doing a great study into apologetics (i.e. answering tough questions about the Christian faith).  Please contact Craig Boswell if you’d like to join.
    • The Teenagers will meet AT A NEW TIME online on Tuesday. The new time is 18:30-19:10. Speak to Carel-J if your age qualifies you and you want to join in!
From Monday onwards Badisa will only make soup for the children as adults are able to go back to work / look for work. If you are able to make and donate soup to them, please contact their offices 0839735772.

5) Praise Singing

Let us fill our homes with praise singing to our almighty God!

6) Communion

Today each home gets to do communion together. If you’re alone at home, speak / pray these words out loud to proclaim God’s goodness!

a) Read the following passage to remind you of the purpose of the bread

1 Corinthians 11:23–24 (ESV)
For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when He was betrayed took bread,  and when He had given thanks, He broke it, and said, “This is my body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of Me.”

b) Have someone pray to thank God for the bread representing his body that was offered for us for the forgiveness of sin.

c) Break and hand out the bread and eat in your own time.

d) Read the following passage to remind you of the purpose of the wine/grape juice

1 Corinthians 11:25–26 (ESV)
In the same way also He took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.

e) Have someone pray to thank God for the new covenant of grace established by the perfect blood of Jesus Christ

f) Hand out the cups and drink together.

g) Have someone pray to thank God that we can be partakers in his death and life.
