1) Preparation and Prayer

Good morning!

Read the following Psalm as a prayer in preparing your heart for meeting with God.

The wicked borrows but does not pay back, but the righteous is generous and gives; I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his children begging for bread.
He is ever lending generously, and his children become a blessing.

Amen

Psalm 37:21,25-26

2) Announcements

  • VERY NB UPDATE/CHANGE:In planning the December events we’ve learnt that there are many restrictions and challenges in organising outdoor events. So we (as the elders) have been discussing it among ourselves and with the police and have come to the conclusion that it’s just not worth pursuing outdoor events this December.

    So the updated plans are:
    ————————–
    1) NO Carols-By-Candlelight. Sadly this event will be cancelled this year.
    2) 2 Christmas services in our hall. The Afrikaans service will be at 7:30am and the English service at 9:30am.

All services will be limited to 100 people, so you will have to book your seats for all services from the 20th of December to the 10th of January

  • The Lord’s supper Next week we’ll have the Lord’s supper on the online service. Please have your bread and juice/wine ready for next week.

    b) We’ll need volunteers who will be able to help with the above (buying / making and delivering food). If you are able to assist in this way, please let Carel-J know.

1) Preparation and Prayer

Good morning!

Read the following Psalm as a prayer in preparing your heart for meeting with God.

O LORD, my heart is not lifted up; my eyes are not raised too high; I do not occupy myself with things too great and too marvelous for me.
But I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me.

Amen

Psalm 131:1–2 (ESV)

2) Announcements

  • We’re having ANOTHER baptismal service today after the morning service. 🙂

  •  COVID-19 update:

    • just a request for prayer and precaution. The COVID-19 numbers in the Garden Route are rising drastically. I received a message from one of the doctors at the George provincial hospital that they are currently at maximum oxygen usage. There is no more space for anyone to be put onto oxygen. And yet the number and rate of patients are increasing

      So two requests:
      1) PRAY
      2) Please minimise your risks of being infected and infecting others

Remember, the crisis of a pandemic is not measured by what percentage of the population gets sick, but whether the medical systems can cope with the number of people who are sick. And we are beyond crisis mode now. Be safe. Be praying. Be trusting.

Good morning!

Read the following Psalm as a prayer in preparing your heart for meeting with God.

The earth is the LORD’s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein, for He has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers.
Who shall ascend the hill of the LORD? And who shall stand in his holy place?
He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully.
He will receive blessing from the LORD and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
Such is the generation of those who seek Him, who seek the face of the God of Jacob.

1) Preparation and Prayer

Good morning!

Read the following Psalm as a prayer in preparing your heart for meeting with God.

This is also the prayer we are praying over the violence and hatred and fires happening up north:

As fire consumes the forest, as the flame sets the mountains ablaze,
so may you pursue them with your tempest and terrify them with your hurricane!
Fill their faces with shame, that they may seek your name, O LORD.
Let them be put to shame and dismayed forever; let them perish in disgrace,
that they may know that you alone, whose name is the LORD, are the Most High over all the earth.

Amen

Psalm 83:14–18 (ESV)

Good morning!

Read the following Psalm as a prayer in preparing your heart for meeting with God.Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and sing praises!

Let the sea roar, and all that fills it; the world and those who dwell in it!
Let the rivers clap their hands; let the hills sing for joy together
